★★★★★ 5 Star Wild As The Wind Shop Review :: Ordering easy, delivery prompt, sensibly packaged, quality product. This feels like magic, the smell is deeply relaxing. You can feel it on your skin as a gentle tingle, like warm sun. First I was going to order chamomile for a rash and to give my face a pick-me up, I am 54, skin getting a bit dry & some lines now. Then I saw chamomile is an ingredient in this facial oil. I chose number 8 as it said it was a bit lighter than number 2. The oil is a blue green colour which, to me, shows the plant oils must still have the properties that make them beneficial for your health. I certainly feel relaxed and calm after using this and my rash has gone as has the quite sore eczema that was on my hands. All in all, a quality product, that has many more good effects than simply moisturising your face.

After a very dry, flaky darker patch of skin (on my face) was diagnosed, by a doctor, as sun damage and not being that impressed with the emollient prescribed, I thought I’d give Rachel’s Facial Oils a try. I’m so pleased I did!
I’ve been using #8 for several weeks and can barely see the patch now. I noticed an improvement within a few days which just got better and better.
I highly recommend #8. The aroma and feel is wonderful too!

FACIAL OIL No. 8 & FACIAL OIL No. 2 Starter Kit
My husband, 12 year old daughter and I were all using no2 diluted a little with grape seed oil. I bought some number 8 to use when the weather is warmer as recommended. I found the number 8 too light for my aging skin. My daughter however has been using it exclusively and we are both incredibly happy with the results. Her hormone ridden facial skin is so much better…. We are very happy on so many levels and use nothing else but Wild As The Wind. I have also started using the Neroli Mineral Spritz for hard to reach dry areas and it is helping…. thank you.
Helen, North London, UK
Since launching the FACIAL OIL No. 8 & FACIAL OIL No. 2 Starter Kit many FACIAL OIL No. 2 users have been very surprised that they could love a face oil as much as they love No. 2!
I LOVE the facial oil number 2, it’s amazing, the number 8 is gorgeous too, especially under makeup.
Caroline, Knutsford :: Makeup Artist
★★★★★ 5 Star Etsy Review :: I love oil number 2 so thought I would mix and match with oil number 8. Love this oil. Lighter than number 2 but still as good. I had shingles recently and the oils in combination helped my skin to heal really quickly. I have been using the oils from Wild as the Wind for over 2 years now. I would not use anything else on my skin. Face creams just leave my skin feeling dry.
Claire, Dumfries
Number 8 is also fabulous.
Nicole, Surrey
FACIAL OIL No. 2 is very calming, nourishing and my skin has become so much clearer, smoother and looks so much healthier. Rachel, whose knowledge is immense, and is incredibly helpful, has also introduced me to Facial Oil No 8 which is slightly lighter for the summer months and is equally as good (and smells just as divine as Facial Oil No 2).
Claire, Castle Carey
FACIAL OIL No. 8 Ultra Light
FACIAL OIL No. 8 is an ultra light facial oil for those with tiny pores, or for normal daytime use in the summer.
It’s comedogenic value is as small as can be, and it’s nutrient value is immense. It really is a delightful oil.
I am really liking the Facial Oil no 8! It’s lighter than no 2 but still makes my skin feel nourished and soft. The smell is lovely as well!

★★★★★ 5 Star Google Review :: I purchased the facial n.8 which I think smells amazing and really seems to improve the skin immediately and I am looking forward to show the results to my friends.

★★★★★ 5 Star Etsy Review :: This oil is great, I’ve noticed a difference with my skin, it feels and looks radiant. This is the second bottle, opting for the bigger measure this time because both my husband and myself use it.
I am so glad with the oil nr8, and the Rose/Otto toner/ cleanser. My skin looks healthy and with a natural glow. I use 4 drops in the morning and 4 drops before sleep.
Donalda, Netherlands
I am now on my third bottle of No. 8 Facial Oil and can tell you it is fantastic. I put one drop onto each cheek and one on my forehead, then massage in while breathing in the wonderful aroma. It’s a light oil so sinks in really well. I do this morning and night and my skin is amazing, soft, clear and with minimal fine lines. There is a marked difference between my skin before and after using this facial oil and although I can’t say why, it makes me feel good. I can’t recommend it enough.

★★★★★ 5 Star Etsy Review :: These facial oils are really next level. I’m forever impressed with these high grade essential oil based facial oils

FACIAL OIL No. 8 & Growths
Jenny from Clevedon didn’t want to go to the doctor, despite pressure from her friends to do so…
[She had a] growth… the size of something just a little smaller than a twenty pence piece, was raised with a crystalline appearance, and was multi coloured… some parts white and cloudy, others yellowish or brown, even looking a little black in a couple of places.
Jenny told me her growth disappeared within two weeks, and another one, which she hadn’t originally mentioned, took a little longer, but also went away after a little more time with consistent use of FACIAL OIL No. 8.
Since then I have seen several women present with these kinds of growths on their hands and have told them about my first encounter and what Jenny opted to do about it. They also chose to invest in some FACIAL OIL No. 8 and most have faithfully come back to show me their growths have also disappeared.

FACIAL OIL No. 8 For Summer & Holidays
Because FACIAL OIL No. 8 has anti-perspirant, insect-repelling and cooling properties, as well as being ultra-light and instantly absorbed, without leaving any residue, it is perfect for hot weather environments.
I bought facial oil no8 just over 2 weeks ago and am very happy with it.
My skin feels and looks more nourished, healthy and happy!
I am so pleased to have bumped into you at Wells market and will be back for more.
Karen, Wells, Somerset
We don’t want to put heavy bug repelling substances anywhere near our face and eyes. We especially don’t want anything like DEET near our eyes and mouth, (although I would never advocate the use of DEET as it is so toxic)… so FACIAL OIL No. 8 is the perfect accompaniment to a natural insect repellent for use on our bodies.
Being such an ultra-light blend it nourishes and moisturises without making us hot. This is because it absorbs perfectly and easily.
DEET is not the only skincare ingredient we need to be cautious of.
Sunscreen is often carcinogenic and many toxic chemicals find their way into the vast majority of our skincare products.

FACIAL OIL No. 8 Aroma
The aroma of FACIAL OIL No. 8 differs greatly from FACIAL OIL No. 2.
The overriding scent is of citrus fruits. This has been a relatively hard won achievement. Carrot Seed Essential Oil is rather pungent and is very pervasive. The citrus oils have had to work very hard to compete!
I have been using Facial Oil No 2 for a few months and I love it, however, when we had a warm snap a month or so ago I found it too heavy for my skin during the day… possibly a left over anxiety of being an oily skinned person when I was young? Spoke with Rachel about reducing amount or whether there was another alternative. The answer Facial Oil No 8, much lighter, disappeared completely and left my skin feeling fantastic. Result! Big thanks to Rachel for listening and being so helpful.
Sarah, Midsomer Norton
I have to say how good your number 2 & 8 [FACIAL OILs are]. I have used none of the sun screen only your oils. They are wonderful and natural, thank you for introducing them to me. Jenny x
*** I love that Jenny took the time to write in… [and] I really enjoy it when she, and her friends, pay me a visit.
Jenny and her friends have been a trove of information for me. Particularly Jenny.
When she first came to the Wild As The Wind Wells Market stand she gingerly showed me something on her hand explaining all her friends had been telling her to go to the doctor about it.
I said I agreed with her friends. But, it was clear she was resistant to see a physician and she asked me if I had anything for it.
“Well, you could try this new face oil I’ve been developing”, I replied, ” FACIAL OIL No. 8 . It’s immensely healing, and it might help. But, you have to promise me if you decide to get it, you’ll use it for a couple of weeks and then go to the doctors if there’s no improvement.”
Two weeks later a very smiley Jenny reappeared at Wells.
“It’s gone”, she announced.
I was amazed. The growth had been the size of something just a little smaller than a twenty pence piece, was raised with a crystalline appearance, and was multi coloured… some parts white and cloudy, others yellowish or brown, even looking a little black in a couple of places.
Since then I have seen several women present with these kinds of growths on their hands and have told them about my first encounter and what Jenny opted to do about it. They also chose to invest in some FACIAL OIL No. 8 and most have faithfully come back to show me their growths have also disappeared.

Carrot Seed Essential Oil is immensely healing. It is brilliant for drawing impurities, copiously supporting the natural cleansing action of the skin.

Bergamot FCF Essential Oil
This beautiful uplifting essential oil is also known to reduce blood pressure, probably owing to it’s ability to reduce stress.
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil, like many of the citrus oils, would be photo-toxic if it weren’t furocoumarin-free, (FCF). Bergaptene, the photo-toxic constituent, is removed from Bergamot FCF Essential Oil. This means that this oil can be worn topically at any time of year.
Bergamot Essential Oil has many skincare benefits. It is a purifying and cleansing oil that soothes skin irritations and itching. It is even great for warding off cold sores!

As well as being the go-to remedy for menopausal symptoms,Clary Sage Essential Oil is also extremely hydrating for dry or mature skin.
Clary Sage Essential Oil is one of Wild As The Winds very favourite oils!
Helichrysum Essential Oil

So, like German Chamomile Essential Oil, which is also in this beautiful oil blend, Helichrysum is amazingly calming, and may help people sleep, just as much as FACIAL OIL No. 2 may, in fact.
Other ancillary benefits include increasing bone density, a compelling reason to have it in an anti-ageing blend, for the more mature woman.
Helichrysum is considered a medicinal plant and is reputed to possess many promising pharmacological activities, mainly because of it’s natural antibiotic, anti-fungal and antimicrobial properties. Helichrysum even supports the health of neurological tissues!
As well as being very anti-ageing, Helichrysum Essential Oil is very anti-inflammatory which helps with Acne, as well as great for wound and scar healing.
Referred to as the Everlasting Flower, owing to it’s anti-ageing benefits, Helichrysum Essential Oil is known to be extremely rejuvenating and able to improve our complexion considerably.
German Chamomile Essential Oil
German Chamomile Essential Oil is calming, and, as it’s blue colouring would suggest, it’s cooling too, as well as immensely anti-inflammatory, all of which make it perfect for dry, inflamed or irritated skin.
German Chamomile Essential Oil possesses wound healing abilities alongside it’s soothing, rash healing properties, making it ideal for Eczema and Rosacea etc…
As with Carrot Seed Essential Oil, German Chamomile Essential Oil is great for boils and abscesses. Add Helichrysum and frankincense into the mix and you have a fantastic treatment for Haemorrhoids as well as Arthritis!
***Inflammatory conditions are serious.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense Essential Oil is possibly the most favourite essential oil of all. It is fantastically healing, and makes for a formidable union with the other essential oils in this blend.
The Wild As The Wind Frankincense Carteri Essential Oil is distilled in the UK, so there is no way that this oil can be adulterated.
Owing to the Sesquiterpenes in Frankincense, this profoundly healing essential oil assist with normalising hormone activity.
It is also extremely useful in treating Acne, abscesses, bruises, promoting collagen, reducing scars, smoothing wrinkles, and healing wounds.
Geranium Essential Oil
Geranium Essential Oil is another big hitting wound healing, hormone balancing, wrinkle smoothing powerhouse! This is partly due to the Monoterpines in Geranium Essential Oil, which are vital for final phase restoration of our hormone cell receptor sites, that help to restore hormone balance.
Geranium Essential Oil has been used for centuries as a remedy for problematic menstruation and menopausal symptoms.
Geranium provides physical, mental and emotional support. It is antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiseptic, and anti-fungal and has powerful healing properties when it comes to wounds, burns and frostbite.
Geranium is often used to treat Acne, Eczema and Psoriasis, but there are a few cases of Eczema that have proven to be exacerbated by Geranium Essential Oil in our experience. This is likely due to hyper-sensitisation to anything which is aromatic. In these cases it is vital to heal the gut!
Because of it’s ability to support the normalisation of congestive skin and regulation of both oily and dry skin types, it really is an essential oil that is all about balance.
Geranium Essential Oil oil promotes collagen, improves circulation, reduces blood pressure and anxiety, alleviates insomnia and generally relieves stressful conditions. Needless to say it is one of the best anti-ageing essential oils that we have.
Geranium reduces wrinkles and tones the muscles. It is an excellent addition to any face oil for its skin tightening and toning properties alone… the skin and blood vessels contract due to the astringent properties of this oil.
It can help eliminate the appearance of scars and dark spots by supporting blood circulation immediately beneath the surface of the skin and by helping to promote an equal distribution of melanin.
The terpenes present in Geranium repel insects. This oil is, therefore, a useful ingredient in natural insect repellents. As you will already read, Citronella Essential Oil, also present in this facial blend, possesses insect repelling properties too. And, like Citronella Essential Oil, topical applications of Geranium Essential Oil can also help heal insect bites and stop itching owing to it’s profoundly anti-inflammatory properties..
Geranium Essential Oil repairs damaged skin due to excessive sun exposure as well as helping to balance sebum production.
Citronella Essential Oil
This beautiful aromatic, pacifying essential oil is a fantastic anti-inflammatory, which makes it anti-ageing, as well as being a potent antioxidant, which help decrease rashes, infections, pain, and fights free radical damage.
It also reduces excessive sweating and is brilliant as an insect repellent. As FACIAL OIL No. 8 is the face oil of choice for hotter temperatures, the insect rappelling abilities of Citronella are a welcome addition.
Citronella Essential Oil is potently anti-fungal, and so it is perfect for infectious skin conditions, and heat rash.
Not only does it help us sleep but it also combats fatigue and nervous exhaustion.
Base Oils
Jojoba Oil
Extremely nourishing and cleansing, making it ideal for reducing blackheads.
When used with geranium, lavender and tea tree, it helps treat tough skin conditions.
Safflower Oil
It is not the absence of water which dehydrates the skin, it is the absence of essential fatty acids, or EFAs.
Safflower Oil is very rich in essential fatty acids, primarily Linoleic Acid, which usually accounts for approximately 70% of this oil, and Oleic Acid, which is obviously found in smaller, but still considerable amounts.
Evening Primrose Oil
Topical applications of Evening Primrose Oil are helpful for Acne, as well as Eczema & Psoriasis.
Evening Primrose Oil promotes healthy, glowing skin clear. It rejuvenates the complexion and helps to smooth away any roughness. It is anti-wrinkle and also soothes dry irritated and reddened skin, reducing discolouration and leaving the skin feeling satin-soft.
Grapeseed Oil
Another oil rich in essential fatty acids, or EFAs, the Omega-6 fatty acid content of Grapeseed Oil is a great compliment to the Safflower Oil content of FACIAL OIL No. 8, keeping our skin feeling plump and hydrated.
The Vitamin E content in Grapeseed Oil is also excellent for anti-ageing, and makes for a great replacement for other Vitamin E rich oils, such as Argan Oil, which is too comedogenic for Acne-prone skin.
Omega-6 fatty acids are vital for healthy skin barrier function. The main EFA in Grapeseed Oil is Linolenic Acid, which is considered to be anti-inflammatory for the middle and outer layers of the dermis, (skin). This makes Grapeseed Oil a brilliant complementary base oil to Safflower Oil. Together they make a brilliant moisturiser all on their own.
Grapeseed Oil can also help heal Acne and can tighten pores, and, like Jojoba Oil, it can reduce the appearance of scars… (Also, like Jojoba Oil, it can be used for removing makeup.)
Grapeseed Oil, as with all of the other base oils, quickly penetrates the skin without trace. There is no oily residue with any of the base oils in FACIAL OIL No. 8.
As with some of the other ingredients in this delightful face oil, Grapeseed Oil is antioxidant and thus it is a free radical scavenger, which reduces oxidative stress.
It is ideal for people with all skin types, but is especially healing for those that tend towards dry, irritated and Acne-prone skin.
