So, What are we talking about here?
NutraSweet & Aspartame
NutraSweet & Aspartame are the two main offenders… and we all know all about them… because they are EVERYWHERE!
But, there are others, of course… like Splenda… and probably a whole slew of others besides… but, I’ve spent my whole life giving these things a really wide birth, so I can’t think of any other brand names off the top of my head at the moment… If you can, please add them in the comments!
Why Are Sweetners Wrecking Our Sex Lives?
Sweeteners damage our gut health, which in turn restricts our ability to produce and maintain the correct levels of hormones and neurotransmitters within our bodies.
Almost evreryone will be able to relate to the idea that hormonal dysfunction would directly impact the sexual functioning of our bodies, but what have neurotransmitters got to do with it?
Well, eating Aspartame and NutraSweet deminish the production of neurotransmitters, like Dopamine and Serotonin, which feed into our sexual response.
Dopamine is our motivational neurotransmitter, without which we wouldn’t even get out of bed in the morning, and Serotonin is the neurotransmitter that makes us feel okay about life and ourselves… it’s our contented neurotransmitter.
A reduction in Serotonin and Dopamine results in depression.
Depression causes us to lose our libido.
Serotonin & Sexual Response
As much as 90% of our Serotonin is produced in our gut.
As well as affecting libido there are other, more direct ways, in which Serotonin deminish sexual response.
According to Dr. Catalano:
Serotonin is active in several areas that can affect female sexual function and arousal. It has been found in several regions of the female genitals and in the central nervous system.
Serotonin… act[s] primarily to affect mood; however, outside the nervous system it acts to control and improve blood flow to several areas including the female genitals.
The female orgasm starts with stimulation of nerves in the sexual organs, which then leads to contractions in the smooth muscle of the genital system. Serotonin is found in those nerves.

Have We Entered Some Kind Of Dystopian Nightmare?
I recently saw the following image on Facebook. And, in many respects I believe it’s true.
Margaret Atwood has gone public with the fact that every element of The Handmaids Tale has actually happened somewhere on the planet… and 1984 is looking more and more like reality in the way in which technology is being used.
But, when you start seeing these two outcomes from the same product, (i.e. sweeteners ruin female sexual response and induce male sexual dysfunction), you’ve got to start wondering whether the big story here on earth is that eugenics really didn’t die with Hitler.
The Endocrine System & The Sugar Tax
Aspartame is practically in every product since they introduced a sugar tax in the UK!
Officially called the Soft Drinks Industry Levy (SDIL), the tax puts a charge of 24p on drinks containing 8g of sugar per 100ml and 18p a litre on those with 5-8g of sugar per 100ml, directly payable by manufacturers to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
So, to avoid paying the tax, soft drinks manufacturers are turning to a whole new way of killing us so that they can continue to egregiously profit from our undoing…!

Monsanto Is Implicated
Monsanto purchased G.D. Searle in 1985, which is the chemical company that previously held the patent to aspartame.
So! It’s our good old friend Monsanto who deviously orchestrated our dismal sex lives from 1985 trough until 2000… as well as all of the other evil they continue to perpetrate in the name of profit…
And that lovely Bill Gates who made the lovely Microsoft… he owns $50 million shares in them because… well… because he’s just so lovely!

However… according to Monsanto…
Monsanto has not produced or sold aspartame for more than a decade. In 2000, we sold the NutraSweet Company to J.W. Childs and sold Equal to Merisant.
